Tegefjäll is one of the more peaceful mountain areas in the Åre valley, where the focus is on skiing, nature, and relaxation rather than après-ski and village life. When you rent accommodation here, you often stay with views over Lake Åresjön and with slopes and lifts right next to you or within easy walking distance.

The area mainly consists of cabins and apartments directly connected to the ski area, with Tegenova, Alpen, Canyon, and Ängsvallen being popular parts for holiday rentals.

In Tegefjäll, there is no need for transport to the lifts – many properties offer ski-in/ski-out access, and otherwise it is usually just a short walk to the nearest lift. The ski area is connected to Duved and offers around 10 lifts and 30 runs in total. It is especially known for its wide, family-friendly slopes and excellent tree skiing in untouched snow. The pace is generally calmer than in Åre, meaning fewer queues and a more relaxed experience.

If you also want to ski in Åre’s larger ski system, the ski bus runs regularly between Tegefjäll, Duved, and Åre during the winter season. By car, it takes around 10 minutes to central Åre.

Tegefjäll offers some basic services close to the slopes. At the Tegeliften, you’ll find Tegetornet with an ICA ToGo store, ski rental, and a restaurant and bar during the winter season. Up on the mountain, there are also simpler seasonal spots such as Wigwam or Lillåstugans Våffelbruk.

For a wider selection of restaurants, grocery stores, and services, you can easily head to Duved or Åre, allowing you to combine a quiet stay with more options just a short distance away.

Most accommodation in Tegefjäll includes private parking directly adjacent to the property. This makes it a particularly convenient area to stay in if you are travelling by car.
