I have mixed feelings about Fredrik’s apartment. The location is excellent. The neighborhood is quiet and upscale, albeit less vibrant than others. The apartment itself is also good. It’s modern and clean, with amenities like an induction stove, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. That said, it’s also minimally furnished to the point of being austere. I was comfortable, but if you’re looking for cozy, this isn’t it.My main frustration was with the host; I regularly felt like I was being nickel-and-dimed. A fee for early check-in. A fee for late check-out. When I arrived, there was only one pillowcase and one towel. When I requested another of each, I was asked to pay $20. In the host’s defense, the listing did specify this in the fine print (which I didn’t see). Still, it felt oddly miserly: not what I’d expect for the price of luxury hotel. If you’re comfortable with caveat emptor, this apartment may suit nicely. But if you prefer to avoid headaches, you may be happier with a hotel.
